Senior UI Engineer

Kodaro, the building automation software company, is looking for a full-time Senior UI Engineer with extensive Javascript experience to deliver new features and functionality for our enterprise software applications (desktop and mobile). We’re changing the way the building environment understands, reacts and adapts through the use of technology. Our software increases the longevity of building assets, improves the comfort of building occupants and helps building owners achieve higher efficiency.

The ideal senior UI engineer for Kodaro has proven development skills with at least 5 years’ experience deploying strong front-end web applications in an enterprise software environment. Experience in the buildings industry is a plus though not required.

Our technical teams are located in Ottawa, Canada and Pleasant Hill, California. The person in this position will work onsite in one of these two locations.

The Senior UI Engineer will occupy a senior developer position working extensively with our Chief Software Architect to develop front-end web applications for the Kodaro onPoint product line. The candidate must be fluent in writing comprehensive JavaScript, with React/Redux/React Native experience an asset. This person should have a proven history of innovative user interface design, interaction and development.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional software development experience
  • Advanced JavaScript development experience
  • Be able to demonstrate strong web development concepts and practices - HTML, CSS, Websocket, JavaScript, etc.
  • Experience building user-facing products for enterprises with strong UX abilities
  • Experience working with distributed teams through an Agile process is a nice-to-have
  • Strong automated testing mentality in a CI/CD environment.
  • Have excellent verbal and written communication skills in English

Education

  • Past educational experience in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Engineering, or another related technical field.
